Thomas Wayne “Butch” Bynum

Memorial services for Thomas Wayne “Butch” Bynum, 76, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate.  Military honors will be presented at the chapel.  Private interment will be Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mr. Bynum passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Mr. Bynum was born on October 26, 1947, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Richard Allen Bynum and Irene Rich Bynum Exum.  He served his country in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart Medal recipient.  He retired as a professional truck driver.

Survivors include: his sons, Tony Bynum of Hazelhurst, GA, DeWayne Bynum (Ruby) of Alma, GA, Terry Woods (Whitnee) of Deland, FL, Michael Woods (Brittani) of Murphy, NC; daughters, Melissa Bynum of Cairo, GA, Cornelia Truman of Fort Pierce, FL; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren;  brother, David Allen Bynum of DeLand, FL; sister, Linda Harrell Laster of Cairo, GA; sister-in-law, Alice Bynum of Cairo, GA;  and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Stephen Wayne Bryum; and a brother, Richard Larry Bynum.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
