Velma Davis Prince

Graveside funeral services for Velma Louisa Davis Prince, 86, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in Pleasant Grove Community Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jeff Ezell will officiate.  Mrs. Prince passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Mrs. Prince was born on December 16, 1936, in Whigham, GA, to the late Jefferson Monroe Davis and Mildred Shy Davis.  On October 27, 1954, she married Wilburn Prince, who preceded her in death on August 20, 1988.  She worked for the Grady County Tag Office many years and later she was employed in the secretarial department of Grady General Hospital.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: her children, Benny Prince of Cairo, GA, Eddie Prince (Teresa) of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Christy Prince Tucker (Kacey) of Silver Creek, MS, Haiylee Prince of Cairo, GA, Jeremy Prince (Joy) of Cairo, GA, Justin Prince (Renetta) of Humble, TX, Jason Clark of Ashville, NC; great-grandchildren, Zach, Ava, Alexis, Jaxson, Rachel, Jacey, Justin, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Nova; brothers, Donnie Davis of Cairo, GA, Carl Davis (Dorothy) of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a brother, James Davis.
