Vivian Mary Childs

Vivian Mary Childs, 98, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Cairo, GA, passed away at Chestnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cumming, GA, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The family will have a private graveside funeral service. Interment will be in the Cairo Cemetery.
Mrs. Childs was born on January 20, 1926, in Sylvester, GA, to the late Walter Moses Bradley and Rena Powell Bradley. On January 19, 1946, she married George Floyd Childs, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 4, 1998. She retired from Wight Hardware, Inc. in Cairo. She was a member of the Cairo First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Childs had an extraordinary love for all animals. She enjoyed gardening and sharing her flowers and vegetables with friends and neighbors. She loved being with and cooking for her family and friends. She liked fishing, playing golf and playing bridge.
Survivors include: her son, George Floyd “Buddy” Childs, III (Mary) of Newnan, GA, GA; grandsons, George Childs (Brooke) of Milton, GA, GA, Chad Childs of Milton, GA, Craig Moye (Tina) of Albany, GA, Matthew Moye of Albany, GA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Childs of Athens, GA; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; daughter, Patsy Moye; son, Stan Childs; and a son-in-law, Rusty Moye.
