Graveside funeral services for Walter Aaron Maxam, 30, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2022, in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Rod Brinkley will officiate. Mr. Maxam passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
Active pallbearers will be Dillon Guerrero, Sean Williams, AJ Armitage, Nick Ruff, Jacob Jones, Austin Howard and Rick Gainor.
Mr. Maxam was born on July 8, 1992, in Cairo, GA, to Albert Maxam and Sherry Brown Whitfield. On November 18, 2017, he married Kaysee Strickland Maxam, who survives. He was a logger with Coon Dog Logging. Walter was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time hunting, fishing and camping. He loved football and was a life-long Florida Gator Fan. His family was everything to him and he adored his son Lincoln. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: his wife, Kaysee Maxam of Cairo, GA; son, Lincoln Maxam of Cairo, GA; father, Albert Maxam (Angie) of Cairo, GA; mother, Sherry Whitfield of Bainbridge, GA; brothers, Adam Maxam (Morgan) of Cairo, GA, Michael Close of Bainbridge, GA; sisters, Ebony Howard (Marcus) of Atlanta, GA, Kenya Strong of Atlanta, GA; grandmothers, Vickie Parker (Steve) of Cairo, GA, Elois Jones of Colquitt, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Joyce Brown, and Roy Parker.
