William Edward Owens

Funeral services for William Edward Owens, 91, of Cairo, GA, are 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Pine Level Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver and Rev. Will Cook will officiate. Private interment will follow in Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Owens passed away at his residence, Cairo, GA, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Mr. Owens was born on July 30, 1933, in Grady County, GA, to the late John Oswald Owens and Ruby Lee Whitfield Owens. On June 18, 1955, he married Ada Elizabeth Bond Owens, who survives. He served in the United States Army, was a heavy equipment operator, clearing land and building ponds, and was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include in his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Bond Owens; son, Jamie Owens; daughter, Joan Withrow, all of Cairo, GA; granddaughter, Stephanie Kerr; several great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
