Funeral services for William Herman “Bill” Woodfin, 76, of Thomasville, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Don Prevatt will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard. Services will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Woodfin passed away at his home in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be American Legion Honor Guard Post #122.
Mr. Woodfin was born on September 15, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late Sylvie and Julia Horne Woodfin. He served his country in the United States Marines. On May 30, 1971, he married Nancy Kelly Woodfin, who survives. He worked for the General Service Administration until his retirement. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Nancy Woodfin of Thomasville, GA; son, William R. Woodfin (Kyle) of Thomasville, GA, Clayton Woodfin of Thomasville, GA, Wayne Woodfin (Amanda) of Coolidge, GA, Yancey Woodfin of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Lainey Woodfin, Hayden Woodfin, Reid Woodfin, all of Coolidge, GA, Camron Woodfin, Roxie Woodfin, both of Cairo, GA; sisters, Mary Scully of Webb, AL, Elaine Bentley of Trenton, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his grandson, Jonathan Woodfin; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
