Wilma Hopkins Jarrell

Funeral services for Wilma Hopkins Jarrell, 97, of Woodstock, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Johnny Burdick will officiate. Services will conclude at the Chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Jarrell passed away at Woodstock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodstock, GA, on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Schall, Sr., Byron Lyon, Sr., Thomas Schall, II, Byron Lyon, Jr., Morris Anderson and Glen Hopkins.

Mrs. Jarrell was born on August 10, 1919, in Cairo, GA, to the late Vance Hopkins and Sally Mae Adams Hopkins. On April 12, 1942, she married William Paul Jarrell, who preceded her in death on April 21, 1992. Mrs. Jarrell and her husband lived for many years in Stuart, FL, where they were members of Trinity Methodist Church in Jensen Beach, FL. They returned to Cairo in 1985, where they were members of the Cairo First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Vidalia, GA. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: her daughters, Annette J. Schall (Tom) of Canton, GA, Pauline Lyon (Byron) of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Thomas Schall of Canton, GA, Byron Lyon, Jr. (Trish) of Hiram, GA, Chantal Newsome (Gary) of Austell, GA, Tiffany Blackwell of Dallas, GA; great-grandchildren, Trent Schall, Ty Schall, Trace Schall, all of Canton, GA, Grayson Newsome of Austell, GA, Canon Nowicki, Dylan Lyon, Austin Lyon, Haiden Lyon, Elena Lyon, all of Hiram, GA, Gage Blackwell, Bristol Blackwell, Brielle Blackwell, all of Dallas, GA, Sarah Newsome Tomporowski of Stuart, FL; sisters, Clarine Waldron of Cairo, GA, Alene Anderson of Sparks, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, Wyatt A. Hopkins; sisters, Joyce Hudson, Verma Lee Snipes.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
