Visitation for Zelda Frances Woodward, 84, of Cairo, GA, is from 11:00 a.m., until 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2025, at Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Interment will be in Tallahassee National Cemetery. Mrs. Woodward passed away at her residence, Cairo, GA, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Mrs. Woodward was born on September 6, 1940, in Clewiston, FL, to the late Richard Franklin Morris, Sr. and Ruby Mae Anderson Morris. She grew up in West Palm Beach, FL, and graduated from West Palm Beach High School in 1956. On July 21, 1957, she married the love of her life, Leon Lloyd Woodward, Sr., and he preceded her in death on August 20, 2020. She worked for Florida Utility Company as the Secretary to the Treasurer in West Palm Beach. She then worked for the Montgomery Law Firm in West Palm Beach from 1973 until moving to Cairo, GA in 2000. She was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.
During her life, she traveled from coast to coast and visited several countries in Europe while her husband was in the military. Later, she visited her sister in Oregon.
Survivors include her son, Walter James Woodward; sister, Linda Sue “Susie” Hargraves; niece, Ruby L. Hargraves, all of Cairo, GA; great-nephew, Tanner K. Hargraves of Moultrie, GA; as well as other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Leon Lloyd “Buddy” Woodward, Jr.; brothers, Walter E. Morris and Richard F. “Buddy” Morris, Jr.; and a nephew, Waldo E. Hargraves.
